Christine Haba
Central Community College My name is Christine Haba. I am bi-racial, born in the Philippines, and raised in Nebraska. My husband and I have a blended family of four teenagers, a dog named Kevin, and our cat, Otis. I have worked in Grand Island for over a year and have lived in the Tri-City area for the majority of my life. My vocation is advocating for underserved populations across all intersectionalities including race, ethnicity, ability, and sexuality. I serve as the Assistant Adult Education Director at Central Community College and find much joy in helping adults learn English and attain their GED® diplomas. I am especially passionate about educating and supporting our youth so they can one day become secure, healthy, and caring grown-ups. I am honored to be a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters where mentorship is being prioritized for our kids and I believe that in providing them these services, they can navigate the world freely and bravely as adults. Education is my passion, and I believe that connection, relationships, and vulnerability are essential to the learning environment.
